The events of the series take place in 2065, and the subsequent comic strips published in TV21 take place the following year, in 2066, as per the listed publication dates. This is supported in the audio release of Sun Probe, in which the opening narration by Alan specifically states that those events took place in 2065. (Again, though, 25th December 2065 is a Friday.)

    Argument for 2065

I must admit that I have always been of the 2026 persuasion myself, but after reading the 2065 article I'm no longer convinced. It's a very coherent and well-structured argument.
